Remembering Ken Macaulay

Musselburgh RFC is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the sudden and untimely passing of Ken Macaulay.

Ken (back row, second from right) last week visiting the club on his cycle

Ken visited the club last Wednesday in the final stages of his mammoth cycle challenge, which he completed on Saturday.

Ken was in great form when he visited the club and had clearly enjoyed catching up with his many rugby friends during his challenge.

Ken had a long and distinguished playing career, particularly for Gala RFC; and was recently awarded a retrospective Scotland cap. He was known for his uncompromising style as a player and coach, but also for his warm personality off the field. He was a loyal servant to the community game and coached Musselburgh RFC during the late 1990s. He will be sadly missed and our thoughts are with Pat, Richard and Joanna at this very sad time.

Ken’s charity giving page is shown below and in his own words just moments before his passing ‘please keep spreading the word - there’s still plenty of time to donate’.
